The receptionists ease the flow of patients to the doctors and keep the practice running smoothly. They are here to help you. For example they can give you the results of laboratory tests and can arrange transport for hospital appointments.
Sometimes they may need to ask for further details. They are not being nosey and are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.
They do a difficult and demanding job and are working under pressure so please be understanding.
The Midwife provides full maternity care for our patients. She runs the antenatal clinics and can be contacted at the Darley Birth Centre on Matlock 593019. You can deliver your baby at Darley if you fulfil the safety criteria. Have a look at the website in links under women's health.
The health visitors are based at Whitworth Hospital and give advice on health care, particularly for mothers and children. They should be contacted by telephoning Matlock 01629 593066 or e mail DCHS.Matlock.Team@nhs.net
Our community matron has additional training which enables her to oversee the care of patients with more complex needs. She is able to diagnose and prescribe and also works closely with the local nursing homes to provide individual care plans for each patient. The Community Matron also manages our Community Support Team.
